jesseIf you have ever squeezed a palm full of clay you have made this shape by accident. Its actually a beautiful organic bioform. I just squeezed clay, and high-fired it after a little finishing sculpting. It is a great and very easy way to make a custom handle for something you use all the time, like a hammer, or a chisel, or a plane, or a joystick.
I was just imagining what other places you could make one of these "Negative space bioform casts" like your armpit, or but-crack. WOW I JUST realized that I HAVE done some, why didn't I think of that before? I have my ears done for
custom fit ear buds and my nostrils to keep water out as I face the surface when I blow bubble-rings.
SO I will post pictures of those as well.
But the hand one looks the coolest.
Here is the nose mold.
It fits like this.
Apparently some of the members of Cirque Du Soleil have had some like this made for the show "O"
Its a really odd shape. The division between the nostrils is so narrow!
And here are some ear molds. These are just ear plugs made of red vinyl. You can buy them from audiologists, (the same folks that do hearing aids) but I made these myself. I also have a black pair and a set of custom ear buds.
I have a retainer too, but who gives a rats fanny about that!
